The study is devoted to a specific human ability, which the author calls “the sense of art.” It is presented in detail what components of art (in this case, painting) affect the viewer, falling into the sphere of his sensuality. The sense of art is aimed at developing the spiritual life of a person. The connection of this feeling with creative individuality, with traditional folk culture, is shown. In this research, the author, concludes that this feeling is inherent only in a person, the ability to perceive reality given in artistic images. This is an individual creative process of emotional and intellectual, rational and transcendent cognition of reality through the objects of artistic creativity.
